College Experience, Was it Okay? Probably Not
My college experience was okay. Not the best, the work load was almost the same as high school work but the due dates were all bunched in together. I can self regulate and take advantage of my time but I felt lost a lot during this project. It was almost as if I was a fish in the sea, lost and confused.
For my future self the advice I would give to myself is to be strong. Shit ain’t always easy, isn’t always simple, ain’t always fair. You have to trust yourself, keep your eyes on the prize and you will get there. The workload that is given to you do it! The classes become easier once you do the work that is assigned at home. Especially when a teacher gives you readings and annotations, read them and annotate because in class you will have to analyze the readings which helps you out in the end. You will be prepared in the class and you will know what you need in order to pass the class with a high grade. Do not do a half done job because when you do, the teacher will easily give you a low grade which will stay there forever. Work better with others because the teacher sees everything lowkey.
Advice I would give to underclassmen is to just do your work and do not procrastinate and sit alone but if you can control yourself sit with your friends. Manage your time and do your work but it’s college so have fun. These 4 years of your life you will never get back so have fun make great memories and live through the thrilling experiences. #YOLO
Gucci? More Like Fendi

My college experience so far is tragic. Its not gucci, or fendi. Its like everything is due at the same time and it is getting to me. Its not okay that I am stressing so much to the point of madness and dizziness. My classes are going okay, im feeling stressed in Literary Devices because the outline, rough draft, and essay are not easy. We have to read so many articles on Junot Diaz stories. Do not get me wrong I love his stories and they are amazing but they are so long for a short periodically time.
In Physics Mr. Ha taught is more on Dynamics which is great because I need to be able to finish his packet. Midterms are coming soon which is making me dazed and confused because I am scared. I take my school work serious and when I feel like I am failing I just stop caring and go into this pessimistic cycle. Now that I am trying even more I feel like I can actually have a higher GPA in his class because right now I have a 3. I am almost done with his packet, and I am working in order to get it done.
For APUSH or cowboys vs. Indians I an going to start my essay outline since it is due this Friday I am going to give myself some time. I think I have been doing okay because I always participate.
I havent had psychology in a long time.
My Mood Because Im Lost But Im Trying

Im lost in class today because I do not really know whats happening. As I type this I am still stressing over what is due. I have to write 3 outlines for 3 classes because 3 essays are due for me on the same day. December 7th is going to be a pretty tragic day and its kicking in that deadlines in college are going to be stressful because teachers are not talking about their classes and their due dates like they are in high school. So I need to better myself in my time and productivity because if I do not I will totally fall behind which is not okay.
Dazed and Confused
So we have a reflection due today, 12/2/16 and it is to interview someone that is going through college at epic. I interviewed my friend Vanessa Paz.Β
interview : Vanessa Paz
Alejandro- How was your first week of college?
Vanessa- Everything is confusing and messy and it doesn’t really make sense because the teachers keep on changing the project syllabus. I have diverse opportunities in my classes because I was able to choose them. I don’t really know if these classes are college classes but it’s a project and I am going with it.
Alejandro- Are you facing any struggles in any classes?
Vanessa- Deadlines but nothing is really clear and I don’t know what to ask because every teacher says a different thing which confuses me even more. I also procrastinate a lot.
Alejandro- what is your favorite class
Vanessa- Anatomy is my fave class because you get to learn a lot and it is interesting how the human body works. My future field of work is going to be in the medical field so this class works great for my future.
Alejandro- what class do you dislike?
Vanessa- I dislike literacy because I find myself not intrigued in the class. But I like the stories.
After this I was confused because one of my teachers once again changed what they want from us. So instead of doing a blog post as reflections we have to do blog posts every day which is so annoying because Blogging takes more than just thoughts, it takes time as well because we actually have to attend the classes. We have to reflect upon our struggles and who we are in this project. How we need to grow and learn. My classes though are going well so I think that is fine. still though I was dazed by the revelation of the project because Im still like what is happening. Basically shook like Mr. Crabs but its okay because I gotta keep my head up and work on my classes as hard as I can.
I was absent yesterday which totally resulted in me getting lost in my classes. In cowboys vs. Indians we have to do an outline and I wasnt there so I cant fully understand the topic. But college life honestly.
Is the Grass Greener On the Other Side?

It has been the second week of college experience at Epic and It has been going great. My classes are literacy devices and Psychology 101. In both classes we are analyzing authors and how their vision wanted to be viewed by the audience. In psychology we are learning about the authors philosophy work and how they thought the human brain worked. We all worked in a group presentation where we made 3 to 4 slideshows that gave a representation on the philosopher of the psychology. In Theories of developmental psychology my group member and I got Vygotskys sociocultural theory. It was interesting because I got to learn cerebral theories and why people do what they do or how they are able to learn. In Lit we are reading three articles and visioning the literacy devices. We also was given homework on all the literary devices which we had to define and give examples in order to understand the articles that were given to us. I am trying to comprehend Physics because I feel like i have not had his class in weeks. I finally had physics and it went well. He (Mr. Ha) gave us a lot of insight on how to solve dynamics problems and helped us on the board on how to solve the problems. In the class Cowboys vs. Indians we took a quiz on all we have learned so far and I think it went great. not fairly easy but doable. It was a pretty great week especially in psychology and Literacy because I am learning a lot in those classes and participating greatly.

The Start of Different Demands

// The highlights of registration day was that I could choose my classes. I can get an experience of a college type approach of getting to choose my classes in order to better understand the concepts. I liked that I can choose through college classes so that when I get to college I may not choose that class because it didn’t work for me. What I didn’t like in the choosing class process or registration day was that the classes were given priority to others with higher attainments. That’s not fair because in college they do not use attainments. They probably do not even know what attainments are.
In this project I will be doing the blog because I love blogs. It’s a pace where I can be creative and express myself as an individual. I like that the blog is an option for task 3. I am excited to see how the end product will look like. Hopefully I will have the ability to get good grades on both classes. I had Psych and it was interesting. I really liked it because I want to work in the forensic field so to know how the mind works will help me in my future job. I had Literacy and it was okay. Not what I expected but then again I don’t think it is a college class. It feels more of an introductory 9th grade class. But I was absent on registration day so I can’t choose my class which is understandable. But if I was there i’m pretty sure I would’ve gone to philosophy 101 because I love analogies and metaphors that interpret the way of life.
